Workshops

Mihraab brings sacred knowledge directly to communities through intensive weekend workshops. Led by visiting scholars and experienced teachers, our workshops offer in-depth instruction on topics of Islamic scholarship and practice.

Past Workshops

Qur'an Workshop — Tajwīd, Tarjumah, Tafsīr

A weekend intensive covering the three dimensions of Qur'anic engagement: the rules of proper recitation (Tajwīd), understanding the meaning through translation (Tarjumah), and exploring the deeper interpretation and context of the Qur'anic text (Tafsīr).

Western and Muslim History Workshop

An exploration of the parallel development of Islamic civilization and the Western world, drawing connections and distinctions across centuries of shared and divergent history. This workshop offers students a broader lens for understanding the Muslim experience in a global context.

Janāzah and the Journey of the Soul

An enlightening workshop exploring the spiritual, physical, and legal dimensions of death in Islam. Topics include the etiquettes of visiting the sick, the janāzah process (washing, shrouding, and burial), Islamic and legal definitions of death, funeral prayer and graveyard etiquettes, the Barzakh, and reflections on the inevitable.
