Al-Fityān Youth Member Application

Eligibility

Boys may register as a youth participant if they are eleven but not yet eighteen years of age.
If the applicant is ten years old at the time of application but will be eleven by the end of the calendar year, their application will be considered.

Fee Structure

The monthly registration fee is $125, payable upon application approval. This offsets many of the costs associated with running the program and ensures equitable access to the service. Additional participation fees may be applicable to match costs of some program elements on an as-needed basis.

Capacity

The program is currently limited to fifteen registered participants. Applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications submitted after capacity fill will remain on waitlist until space is made. As the program expands, new capacity may also become available in the future.

Your Role as a Parent

Al-Fityān is a youth mentorship program which promotes character development, Islamic living, self-leadership and physical fitness. You can help by encouraging attendance, assisting with your son’s advancement, attending meetings for parents, and assisting when called upon for help.
The success of your son’s role in this program depends on your encouragement and support. As a parent, you agree to:

  • Help your son grow through completion of learning modules and advancement requirements

  • Help the Majlis with activities and assist as needed

Health Information

You should inform leadership of any condition that might limit your child’s participation. Additional medical forms required for high adventure activities.

Admission Disclosure

Applicants may be asked to attend the program as a guest for a specified amount of time to evaluate fit before approval.

Mihraab Foundation holds the right to accept or deny applications and provides no warranties regarding continued admission or advancement.

Youth Protection Policy

Two adult leaders 21 years or older are required to be present at all activities, including meetings.

All registered leaders must submit to a third-party background check and be certified in Youth Protection Training, provided by Mihraab Foundation.

One-on-one contact between adult leaders and youth members is prohibited both inside and outside of the program.
