A Mom’s Membership Club
Hearts and Hands is a Mom's membership club with quarterly events aimed at nourishing, quite literally, the hearts and hands of women doing the hard, yet valuable role of nurturing the next generation. Our objective is to provide a curated selection of programming based on an annual theme that will, bi ithnillah, uplift the women at the core of any society and provide them with much-needed spiritual camaraderie and creative outlets through offerings in the following four areas: cooking, self-care, homesteading, and poetic conversations. Each year will focus on a theme that will carry through each offering and aim to align with the four seasons inshaAllah.
HOW IT WORKS
Every quarter we will gather for a few hours on a Saturday (12-3pm) to quench our (spiritual) hearts and use our (physical) hands. Although many of these activities, and even dhikr, can be done individually in our own homes, the purpose here is to gather and reflect and create in community - something women have done for centuries. Our hope is to restart and inspire such nourishing gatherings. We will begin with dhikr led by Ustādhah Umm Muhammad (approx. 45 mins) and then transition into our activity for the day (approx. 2 hrs). Each session will vary depending on the activity, so these timelines are general.
Registration for individual quarterly sessions are $35 per session OR $100 membership per year.
Inaugural Theme: Preservation
To start us off we have chosen the theme of preservation, because any life giving phenomena begins with preservation. And what greater life giving force within our communities than mothers, who carry, give birth to, and raise the future members of our ummah.
Summer, July 25
Face masks, led by
Ustādhah Umm Muhammad
Ustadhah will lead us in mixing our own face masks with raw and natural ingredients and then invite us to pamper a fellow mom by applying the mask to her!

Fatimah Coleman will lead us in pickling summer’s abundance of harvest. Come and learn how you can begin preserving your own veggies at home!

Drink of Reason
We will gather to read poems and sip on hot coffee. Bring a poem or book of poetry that inspires you, or peruse while you are with us. Don’t be intimidated! Just bring a heart and mind ready to revel in beautiful language!
